Compliance
We assist our clients in all matters of "corporate compliance" in the form of preventive advice (from the development of compliance systems to the preparation of guidelines and training materials) and advice in cases of compliance violations. In doing so, we not only act as advisors, but also as ombudspersons.
M & A transactions
We advise and represent our clients in strategic corporate transactions, i.e. in the acquisition or sale of companies in their entirety or in parts in the form of asset or share deals or through restructuring, in mergers of companies, strategic partnerships, cooperations, joint ventures, succession arrangements, management buy-outs/buy-ins, etc. The advice covers all phases of an M&A transaction, including the initiative/preparation phase, the conclusion of binding confidentiality agreements and term sheets as non-binding preliminary agreements, the legal review of company organisation and contracts etc. with due diligence, support in the negotiations and drafting of contracts until their signing, the preparation and execution of the closing as well as the implementation phase (post-merger integration). The advice covers venture capital investments by financial investors, strategic investors, family offices and start-ups from the formation to the financing, also in the form of majority or minority shareholdings, management and employee shareholdings, up to the exit.
Corporate Law
We advise our clients on the organisational structure (corporate governance), on contractual agreements with their corporate bodies (managing directors, board members, supervisory and advisory boards) and their liability, we support our clients in the preparation and conduct of shareholders' meetings and general meetings, in capital measures (equity and debt financing, such as capital increases or shareholder loans) as well as in transactions under transformation law (mergers, demergers, changes of legal form) and the formation of joint ventures and strategic partnerships. We also assist our clients in matters of succession or liquidation. Furthermore, we advise and represent our clients in contentious proceedings, in particular in shareholder disputes before the ordinary courts or in arbitration proceedings and act as arbitrators ourselves.
Copyright law
German and international copyright law has traditionally been the firm's core competence, and represents a common interface with the various specialist fields within media law. Partners, associates and staff specialising in copyright law provide our clients with expert advice, working with you to preserve and enforce your copyright, user and other ancillary rights. We advise national and international clients at all stages of developing, producing and exploiting creative and artistic works.  In particular, taking forensic action against infringers through securing either interim or permanent injunctions, as well as the international enforcement of rights constitute a major strength of the firm.
Music law
We advise authors, artists, producers and publishers on all questions of music law, in relation both to music publishing and to the development and realisation of music productions.  The scope of our activities is not only advisory - encompassing on the form and content of contracts relevant to copyright across the whole spectrum of music law, such as recording contracts, publishing contracts, artist and songwriter contracts, sampling agreements, synchronisation licences and other licence agreements - but also contentious, protecting and enforcing our clients' rights though the courts.
Media law and the right to freedom of expression
Our many years of experience in the media industry have given us a profound understanding of how news is "made".  We are therefore in a position to devise tailor-made legal solutions to designing communication strategies for our clients, in both online and offline media.

We have made our name in publishing law over the course of 25 years of experience in advising and acting for best-selling and many other kinds of authors, institutions and renowned publishing houses.
Mobile law
We specialise in advising companies in the mobile sector. We act for publishers, marketers, advertising and media agencies but also for a multitude of technology suppliers in the mobile sector. Terms such as cookies, IDFA, beacons, and location-based advertising underpin our analytical skills.  Together with our national and international clients, we develop innovative business models that comply with privacy laws. We advise our clients on the development of Apps for all platforms, including from the perspective of data protection. We also provide support for clients applying for prestigious data protection quality marks, and for that reason are also, for instance, co-operating partners of ePrivacy GmBh (www.eprivacy.eu).
Data protection law
Data protection plays a key role especially in the online sector.  Matters such as Cross Device Targeting, Online Behavioral Advertising and Progammatic Advertising are not feasible unless data protection is properly taken into account. We are experts in these issues and advise significant numbers of technology providers, marketers, publishers and agencies in all aspects of data protection relating to the relevant laws such as the Genederal Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and the German Telecommunications and Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG). In addition to the online marketing sector, we have particular expertise in the areas of eCommerce and eHealth. In addition, we act as external data protection officer for our clients, whom we also advise on general questions of data protection, including on employee data protection.
