We advise authors, artists, producers and publishers on all questions of music law, in relation both to music publishing and to the development and realisation of music productions. The scope of our activities is not only advisory - encompassing on the form and content of contracts relevant to copyright across the whole spectrum of music law, such as recording contracts, publishing contracts, artist and songwriter contracts, sampling agreements, synchronisation licences and other licence agreements - but also contentious, protecting and enforcing our clients' rights though the courts.
A further key focus for our firm is advising on the issues that arise in relation to the many national and international collecting societies.
At the interface between film and music law we also assist film and television producers and other film professionals to resolve problems that arise in the film industry relating to music law.
Alexander Unverzagt has not only lectured widely on the subject of music law, but also published articles on advertising law and music, on the right to make changes in the context of music, and on the film music (production) contract in "Kultur & Recht" (Culture & Law). He is additionally the main author of the acclaimed "Wörterbuch der Musikwirtschaft" (Dictionary of the Music Industry), a new edition of which is in preparation.
